First Meeting
This work, hand-burned into the leather one hair at a time, features the unfinished edges of American elkskin, slightly shadow-boxed on complimentary colored matting, and framed at 33x29 inches. An exercise in whimsy entitled "First Meeting", it shows a black bear nose to nose with a ground squirrel. The rodent appears unafraid and, upon close inspection, the bear reveals just the suggestion of a smile.
